Damaged wall closes Walmart until further notice

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: RCMP say that a youth drove through the wall just after 2:30 a.m. on Friday (April 19).

“When police officers attended they quickly located the youth driver, who was transported to the hospital by Emergency Health Services. The family of the youth was already at the location and they are cooperating with the police investigation,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

“The youth driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash. No serious injuries have been reported. The investigation remains ongoing.”

Earlier: Walmart in Prince George is closed until further notice due to a damaged exterior wall at the front of the store.

In a social media post, the retail giant apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused and are thanking the public for their understanding.
