Wildfire on Chief Lake Road

PRINCE GEORGE — A busy afternoon for firefighting crews late Sunday afternoon (April 21).

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George says the Ness Lake Volunteer Fire Department (NLFD) was called out to a fire on Chief Lake Road at 3:50 p.m .

The NLFD received mutual aid from the Salmon Valley and Pilot Mountain volunteer fire departments.

Thirteen firefighters responded with five pieces of firefighting apparatus. The BC Wildfire Service also responded with 15 firefighters and air tanker support. The fire is now classified as “being held.”
