WHL PLAYOFFS

Cougars feeling great heading into highly anticipated series with Winterhawks

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars are off to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2007. Up next? The team’s toughest opponent yet. The Portland Winterhawks.

The two teams split the season series and finished 1st and 2nd in the Western Conference. With almost identical stats it is building up to be one of the more entertaining series in the WHL Playoffs

The series will run as a 2-3-2 format something the Cougars saw in Spokane. Although it never got past four games. Now the team will have to play three straight games on the road against a lethal Winterhawks team. Head Coach Mark Lamb isn’t paying too much attention to the format though. He knows his team can’t care about the scheduling and must have a business-as-usual mindset.

The first two home games will be Friday & Saturday at the CN Centre with the building once again expected to be completely sold out.
