PRINCE GEORGE— Omineca Arts Centre and the Northern Indigenous Arts Council is putting in a final call for artists to submit their work for their annual Indigenous Arts exhibition, “Ancestral: Manifestations of Past, Present, and Future.” The event will take place throughout June in honour of National Indigenous People’s Day with the organizations hoping to highlight the rich diversity and talent of Indigenous artists.

Organizers say “Ancestral: Manifestations of Past, Present, and Future” invites artists to take part in the living, evolving tradition of indigenous art that reflects an ongoing dialogue between past, present and future. They add that by showcasing a diverse range of artwork they can foster a meaningful connection to the broader community by promoting indigenous culture.

The deadline for submissions for is April 30, 2024. Submissions can include but are not limited to: sculptures, paintings, photographs, songs, stories, poems, performances, short films, and crafts. You may submit up to three pieces for consideration. The live performers will perform during the reception on June 6 at 6:30 p.m.

If your piece is selected Omineca Arts Centre must have the works delivered and ready to install by June 1 at 10 a.m.
