Ravensbergen named WHL Rookie of the Week

CALGARY — The accolades keep piling up for rookie Cougars goalie Joshua Ravensbergen.

The 17-year-old’s latest honour is being named the WHL Rookie of the Week after posting a 1-1 record with a 2.05 goals-against-average, a .943 save percentage and one shutout last week.

It’s the second time he’s been named Rookie of the Week. He was named Goalie of the Month in November and has been Goalie of the Week three times.

Ravensbergen’s shutout on Friday versus Portland was his third of the playoffs. He was also named the game’s first star.

Ravensbergen is 8-1 in the postseason with a .934 save percentage and has a 1.89 goals-against average.

Ravensbergen and his teammates will be back on the ice Monday night when they’re in Portland to play the Winterhawks for Game 3 of the WHL Western Conference Final. The best-of-seven series is currently tied 1-1.
