Two men arrested and charged two years after fatal stabbing in Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Two men have been arrested and charged with manslaughter two years after the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man.

In a news release issued Saturday (May 4) afternoon, Williams Lake RCMP say 26-year-old Michael Bauer and 25-year-old Garrett Shirey were arrested in Williams Lake and Houston, B.C. respectively on Friday.

The charges stem from when officers found Richard Richie Todd suffering from apparent stab wounds on Midnight Drive in Williams Lake just after 11:00 p.m. on May 5, 2022. Todd was sent to hospital but eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Bauer and Shirey remain in custody and will appear in Williams Lake Court virtually on Monday, May 6.
