PRINCE GEORGE – A community fundraiser to support people living with type one diabetes is coming this Sunday to Prince George. From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the Type One Diabetes Group is hosting a community fun fair at the Railway and Forestry Museum.

“We are going to have the mini rail running, there’s a whole bunch of fun and activities, there’s a fun zone, there’ll be wonderful food and snacks and all sorts of stuff going around,” said Co-Founder of the Type One Diabetes Group Megan Rose.

This is the second year the fundraiser has been held, and all funds raised will go towards two organizations. The first is the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation Canada, which is an organization focused on funding cure-based diabetes research. The second is I Challenge Diabetes, a registered charity dedicated to supporting, empowering, and connecting individuals living with diabetes across Canada.

“They host family camps, adventure days, all sorts of things. And with their support, we are going to be bringing some of those things to PG for the type one community. But of course that needs that needs funding so we’re hosting our fundraiser and we’d love the community support for this,” Rose said.
