City publishes draft 2023 annual report

PRINCE GEORGE — The City of Prince George has released the draft 2023 annual report, giving an overview of what the City accomplished in the past year, as well as what is planned for the year ahead.

The 2023 Annual Report is in its final stages, with a draft report being released to highlight notable accomplishments in 2023, as well as what the city is working towards in 2024. The report “provides a comprehensive overview of the City’s initiatives accomplished in 2023, detailed audited financial statements, and activities planned for the coming year that align with the Council’s strategic priorities” and is structured around four pillars:

  • City government and infrastructure
  • Economic growth and development
  • Social health and well being
  • Environmental leadership and climate action

In the report, the City listed a number of notable accomplishments that took place in 2023 including:

  • Civic Core Plan and Official Community Plan (OCP) Review
  • the grand opening of the Jumpstart Multi-Sport Court in Carrie Jane Gray Park in August
  • Two new daycare centres, Tsuhl’ Cho/Huckleberry Daycare on Dagg Road and Kool Cats Family Daycare on Malaspina Avenue, were opened

City Council will review the report at its regular meeting on June 24 at 6 p.m Submissions may be sent by email to cityclerk@princegeorge.ca. Written submissions regarding the 2023 Annual Report should be forwarded to the Corporate Officer by 5 p.m. on June 18 to be included in the Council’s agenda package
