PRINCE GEORGE— In August of 1989 Ronnie, Doreen and their two sons Russell (9 years) and Ryan (4 years) where believed to be last seen leaving their home on Strathcona Avenue in Prince George with an unknown male in a dark 4×4 pickup. They have not been heard from since and the investigation into their disappearance has been ongoing within the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit.

This week, extended family members of the Jack family have begun a community-lead search in the Willow River area, east of Prince George.

“Our investigators have been in recent contact with the organizers of this search and are aware of their efforts. However, the information we have been provided on the search location is not sufficient for us to attend in an investigational capacity,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

However, investigators are in contact with the Jack family members while the search is ongoing and will be notified if anything comes to light.

RCMP has released sketches of the unknown male suspect who is described as:

  • 35 to 40 years old
  • 183 cm to 198 cm (6` to 6`6`) tall
  • 91 to 125 kg (200 to 275 lbs)
  • Reddish-brown hair with a full beard
  • Wearing a ball cap, red checkered work shirt, faded blue jeans, blue nylon jacket, and work boots with leather fringes over the toes.
