RCMP arrest prolific offender on Douglas Street

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP arrested a prolific offender on Sunday (March 2).

Police say the investigation began just after 4 p.m. when they received a report of two men fighting near Freeman Street and Eight Avenue. Witnesses told police they had witnessed a man going into backyards in the area which resulted in a verbal altercation between two people.

“When police officers arrived in the area, the suspect ran away on foot. He was located again on the 600-block of Douglas Street and taken into custody after initially refusing to comply with the instructions of the attending officers. The suspect is known to police,” says Media Relations Officer Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Investigators found approximately 17 grams of what is believed to be illicit drugs on the suspect. He was also found to be breaching some of his court-ordered conditions. He will remain in custody until he can attend court.
