Why you should call animal control when you see a potential stray kitten

PRINCE GEORGE— The North Cariboo BC SPCA has a litter of kittens up for adoption. Those kittens with their mother were brought in as strays by animal control and with that the SPCA is reminding people to make sure to call animal control if they see a stray kitten rather than rescuing them yourself.

“Moms will still go hunting out for any mice or any food and come back to the cat,” explains Samantha McKeown, an animal care attendant. “So, sometimes we’ll even have moms brought in without their kittens. So, sometimes it is best just to leave them where they are, and to call animal control so we can take a proper look.”

As for this litter in particular McKeown provides a glowing review for anyone looking to add a cat to their family.

“They are so cuddly, all they want is attention. They just want to be held.” say McKeown. “They love to play and they love each other. They’re always cuddling with each other. They love their food and they love their toys.”

If you want to adopt them you can visit the North Cariboo BC SPCA online or in person.
