Unattended candle to blame for College Heights structure fire

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire on the 8000 block of St John Crescent in College Heights Wednesday afternoon.

Crews from three halls arrived at approximately 3 p.m. to find heavy smoke and flame coming from a two-story single family home.

The blaze was contained to the basement and knocked down quickly. An investigation revealed the fire was caused by unattended candles. No one was injured and damages are estimated at $80,000.
