RCMP looking for Christmas Day car-jacking suspect

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP is looking to identify a car-jacking suspect from an incident that occurred on December 25, 2024.

Police say that the incident took place at the Prince George Airport just after 11:00 p.m., when the passenger in a taxi brandished a knife at the driver and demanded to be driven out of province.

“The taxi driver stopped in front of the airport and got out of the vehicle. The suspect then got into the driver’s seat and drove away from the airport in the taxi. Thankfully, the driver of the taxi was unharmed in the incident,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, with the Prince George RCMP.

Cooper went on to note that the “taxi was located crashed into the ditch a short time later, however, the suspect had already fled the scene.”
