QUESNEL — The creation of a new municipal traffic unit in April 2024 in Quesnel helped take 54 impaired drivers off the road in 2024.
That’s one of the highlights of 2024 according to the Quesnel RCMP who note that calls for service were also up last year.
Sgt. Clay Kronebusch says Quesnel RCMP responded to over 11,000 calls for service, which is an increase from previous years. He says approximately nine per cent of the calls for service had a mental health component to them.
Kronebusch says there was a decrease in reports of residential break and enters and theft from motor vehicles but an increase in commercial break and enters and theft of motor vehicles in 2024.
