PRINCE GEORGE — The investigation into a fire in downtown Prince George on January 17 has wrapped up and the cause has been deemed “undetermined.”

The fire broke out mid-afternoon at the former City Second Hand Store, on the corner of 4th Avenue and Dominion Street.

“The cause of the fire has been deemed undetermined due to the extensive amount of damage,” says a City of Prince George news release. “The possible cause is deemed as accidental due to inappropriately stored materials within the building.”

The City says there is nothing to suggest any unauthorized people had entered the building prior to the fire, and the RCMP have not been engaged. No one was injured in the blaze, which closed a portion of downtown streets as fire crews battled the fire.
