Foodie Fridays returns!

PRINCE GEORGE – It was the return of Foodie Fridays at Canada Games Plaza, and what a day it was with a cornucopia of food for the hungry public. And Event Coordinator for Foodie Friday couldn’t be happier.

“I think excitement. I see community collaboration, fun, and positivity. Then that’s really what I think this event brings to it. It’s a good thing to bring to downtown,” said Susie Jones.

This was Day One of Foody Friday 2025, after COVID put an end to it so many years ago.

“Totally it did. And it did kill everything. And along with that, after post-COVID, the whole reach out of who even is doing food trucks anymore. So anything that was before COVID felt like a complete erase. There were new people. There were people who were running restaurants, doing other events. But there was still a very much of an interest for small vendors to have a place to come and we have this space that can bring people together and bring vendors together, bring our community together.”

Tourism Prince George opened its doors in Canada Games Plaza this spring, and along with it the vendors in the Nanguz’an market have added to the experience.

“There’s activity and shopping. And again, tourists, people from out of town that are just simply coming through and seeing right in front of them what a little snippet of what Prince George has to offer.”

So with so much of this maiden flight of Foodie Fridays once again, how do you build on it? That’s easy.

“I’m constantly I just got the phone with other vendors who said I want to be part of it. So the best way to put it is Food Fridays. We have a variety. We can showcase talent, and we can also allow community vendors to come down. And the PGSO was here yesterday selling so 50-50 tickets. So we can work together with groups.”

There will be five more Foodie Fridays if you missed the inaugural.
