Baggage screening disruption at YXS

Aug 1, 2025 | 3:55 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — Expect delays when checking baggage at YXS.

The Prince George Airport Authority says it’s currently being conducted manually due to a temporary disruption in the automated screening system.

This is a new disruption, unrelated to last week’s outage. The automated system was restored on July 30, but a separate technical issue has now occurred.

PGAA is working closely with Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) to support the manual screening process and reduce the impact to travellers.

“We’re aware of the current baggage screening disruption and are working with CATSA to support their response and minimize the impact to passengers. We appreciate everyone’s patience as efforts continue to restore the system,” reads a statement from the Prince George Airport Authority.

Updates will be posted to the airport’s website as well as its Facebook page.
