PRINCE GEORGE – August 12 marks the day Prince George will be featured on the Amazing Race Canada, and to celebrate the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society is hosting a watch party at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum.

“It’s going to be really exciting to see how Amazing Race Canada really showcases how beautiful Prince George is,” said Jana Phillips, the Amazing Race Canada Production Coordinator, who is also with the Hospice Society’s Fund Development.

The doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the episode beginning at 8:00 p.m. Phillips didn’t want to give away all that’s to come in the episode, but said the Railway Museum was not featured, which is why the watch party will be hosted there, as she called it “a hidden gem” of Prince George and wanted it involved. As for what is to come in the episode, she said there’s plenty to see that Prince George will love.

“There is UNBC, the Aquatic Centre, another place that I didn’t even know existed was the Ness Lake Nursery, so that’s a really fun part of the show as well,” Phillips said.

It is a free to attend, family friendly event, although any donations to the Hospice Society would be greatly appreciated. Phillips said there will be food and drinks there donated by Nelly’s Pub and Pizza, Coca-Cola, and Pacific Western Brewing. She adds it’s a picnic style event, so she also encourages people to bring their own blankets or chairs if they’d like.
