Williams Lake resident commits to UNBC’s soccer program
PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team has announced its latest player commitment, and they didn’t have to look too far to find him.
Head Coach Steve Simonson announced Friday the commitment of 2007-born midfielder/winger Mion Kinugasa of Williams Lake.
“Putting the jersey on was exciting and a relief in just knowing that I was committed and that this is the next step for me,” shared Kinugasa who graduated in 2025 from Lake City Secondary in Williams Lake.
At the club level, Kinugasa played for the PGYSA Impact under head coach Ryan Beer. Over the course of his senior year, he scored 12 goals and added five assists during Provincials, high school and youth soccer. He earned AAA Provincial all-star honours along with the Male Athlete of the Year award at Lake City.
