Trans-Canada Highway closed north of Lytton after ‘serious’ crash between two trucks
KAMLOOPS — The Trans-Canada Highway is closed in both directions between Lytton and Spences Bridge because of what police say is a serious motor vehicle incident that involved two trucks.
Police say officers from the Lillooet detachment were called in about 8:56 a.m. Monday (Nov. 24) after the incident on the highway about 14 north of Lytton.
While its not clear what happened, police say the occupants of the trucks have suffered serious injuries. They note the highway will be closed until further notice so the crash can be investigated and so first responders can tend to the victims.
“Our investigation is in its infancy and investigators are trying to determine the cause of incident,” BC RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Brett Urano said. “We ask the public for patience as we work to help those involved.”
