Police step up drug trade crackdown over weekend operations

PRINCE GEORGE – Over the past weekend, the RCMP intensified their efforts to combat the local drug trade, targeting individuals involved by seizing various items and removing illicit substances from their possession.

The operation kicked off on Friday, December 12, when officers executed two search warrants at a residence on the 200 block of McIntyre Crescent. During this operation, investigators confiscated ammunition, drug trafficking paraphernalia, an assortment of weapons, and a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine. No arrests were made at this time.

On the same day, another search warrant was carried out in the 1300 block of Pearson Avenue as part of a stolen property investigation. Police found a firearm, a small amount of suspected illegal drugs, and two stolen motorcycles. No arrests were made in this investigation.

The following day, December 13, police were alerted to two individuals sleeping in a vehicle on Third Avenue. Upon arrival, they seized various weapons, a replica firearm, illicit cigarettes, over $1,000 in cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and nearly 10 grams of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine. The driver was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition, while both individuals were released pending lab results and the approval of charges.
