Cougars blow third period lead in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers came from behind to beat the Prince George Cougars Tuesday night, 5-3.
The Cougars lead 3-1 going into the third period on the strength of two goals from Aiden Foster and another from Brock Souch, yet they could not hold on.
The Blazers’ Kayd Ruedig made it 3-2 at the 5:57 mark of the third period before JP Hurlbert tied it at 3-3 at 12:59. Nine seconds after that, Josh Evaschesen scored the game winner. The Blazers scored into the empty net for their fifth goal.
The loss marked the first time this season the Cougars have been defeated in regulation when leading after two periods.
