PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George’s Northern Lights Estate Winery celebrated a landmark achievement this week by bottling its one millionth bottle of wine, a significant milestone for Canada’s fruit wine industry. As BC’s northernmost winery and the country’s largest fruit wine producer, Northern Lights has far exceeded expectations since opening just over a decade ago, now producing more than 10,000 cases annually, three times their original projections.

Operating partner Doug Bell attributes the winery’s success to overwhelming support across Canada, a dedicated team, and a strong embrace from the community, noting that Prince George residents often refer to it as the community’s winery. The operation, which currently distributes across BC, Alberta, and the Yukon, has reached production capacity and is considering future expansion.

Bell emphasizes that the winery’s mission extends beyond sales, focusing on creating exceptional experiences that bring people together. He believes wine uniquely brings people and food together, creating long-lasting positive memories and building networks and community.
