PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP seized body armour and more in a recent police operation.

On Monday, April 6, just after 4 p.m., Mounties received a report of a loud bang and people running from a residence on the 4000-block of First Avenue.

When police officers arrived at the home, they went through to see if there was anyone inside was injured. Once in the home, police officers noted several suspicious items, which prompted them to seek approval of a search warrant for the residence.

“The resulting search yielded several firearms, ammunition, body armour and various controlled substances. The items were seized for exhibit processing and further investigation. This is a good example of how our police officers’ attention to detail can lead to the seizure of items that could cause potential harm in our community,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
