PRINCE GEORGE — There was a bank robbery at Spruceland Shopping Centre this morning (April 17).

Prince George RCMP says the robbery occurred shortly after 10 a.m. with the suspect leaving the building with a small amount of cash.

Police arrived on scene within minutes, obtaining witness statements and reviewing video surveillance footage. Investigators quickly identified a suspect and located him at his home, where he was subsequently arrested; he is currently being held in custody while the investigation continues.

“Police believe the suspect crossed the road following the robbery and may have discarded either a dark-coloured jacket or hoodie underneath a silver Honda that was parked in front of an apartment complex on the 800-block of Central Street East. If anyone saw the article of clothing and picked it up or knows where it currently is, we are asking they speak with police,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
