Spruce Kings headed to conference finals after Game 7 victory

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings defeated the Chilliwack Chiefs 3-1 Tuesday night at Kopar Memorial Arena to win their best-of-seven 2nd round series with the Chiefs, 4-3.

Boris Borin opened the scoring for Chilliwack near the end of the first period but the Kings went on to score three unanswered goals en route to victory.

Spencer Masters scored in the second period to tie the game while Mason Loewen scored the game winner early in the third period. Michael Denney scored into the empty net to clinch the win before 1,739 fans.

Next up for the Spruce Kings is the Nanaimo Clippers in the conference finals.
