PRINCE GEORGE BC- Prince George Cougars goalie Josh Ravensbergen was named the WHL goaltender of the year. This is the first time that the Prince George Cougars goalie has won the Del Wilson Memorial Trophy.

The Prince George Cougars stated “Ravensbergen was outstanding in his third season with the Cougars, leading the WHL in wins (32) and save percentage (.919). He also ranked second in shutouts (4), fourth in goals-against average (2.51), and sixth in minutes played (2,680).” Ravensbergen has put up phenomenal numbers and a fantastic performance, which earned him his title and trophy this season. The 19-year-old goalie from North Vancouver has a great career ahead of him as he continues to be a bright light in the teams he plays for.

The Cougars say “Over his WHL career, Ravensbergen posted a 91-30-4-2 record, establishing the best winning percentage in franchise history. His 91 career victories rank third all-time among Cougars goaltenders. He also compiled ten shutouts which ranks in second among all Cougar goaltenders.” The Cougars Organization has been around since 1994, with many goalies in its time, but Josh was able to overcome the odds and make history within the Prince George hockey world and the Western Hockey League. Ravensbergen was a brick wall for the Cougars, allowing to make it to the second round in the 2025 WHL Playoffs, the first round in the 2024 WHL Playoffs and the third round conference final in 2023.

Ravensbergen made large impact within the Prince George Cougars organization and he will go down in history as one of the best goalies that the Cougars ever had.
