Clippers march into Kopar with confidence
PRINCE GEORGE BC- The Nanaimo Clippers arrived early this morning here in Prince George and were straight on the ice at Kopar Memorial Arena. Even though they are tired, their season is outstretched, and the team had a 15 hour travel route, they are using their playoff momentum to push forward in the coastal conference cup final.
Captain Will Subject of the Nanaimo Clippers stated ” We are as prepared as we can be going into this round, long travel day, these past days but yeah we are ready to go. ” With their determination, drive from the entire team and leadership from Subject, the Clippers have advanced to the third round for the first time since 2022, hoping to make this the year they could all the way to the BCHL Cup Final. The only team in their way from making the final round is the Prince George Spruce Kings.
Head Coach Colin Birkas caught up with CKPG to speak on how the team feels going into this third round and how his faith in his team only grows stronger under the supervision of Subject, Coach Birkas states ” Captain Will Subject got that under wraps, he’s in the grind, on that bus with the guys, he knows how he’s feeling, just having his players act accordingly.”
This is a team of determination and grit, willing to make the push, willing to lay it all on the line on the ice. Nanaimo is mentally noting the long travel days and instead of dwelling on it, they are using the power of the playoff excitement to fuel their team heading forward.
