PRINCE GEORGE — RCMP officers conducted a drug investigation in Prince George earlier this week, targeting two homes on Porter Avenue.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the Prince George RCMP Street Crew Unit executed search warrants at two residences on the 1300-block of Porter Ave., under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Due to what officers described as a heightened safety risk, the North District Emergency Response Team was deployed to assist, arriving with two tactical armoured vehicles.

Authorities used distraction devices to safely clear the homes, a move that drew attention from nearby residents. Corporal Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer for Prince George RCMP, said the tactic is standard in high-risk operations and is intended to protect both occupants and officers at the scene.

During the search, investigators seized approximately $500 in cash, a prohibited firearm, and several ounces of suspected illicit drugs.
