One arrested after firearm incident over the weekend
PRINCE GEORGE β A 31-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an incident in a Prince George railyard that prompted a police response Sunday morning.
According to Prince George RCMP, officers were called to the area near Terminal Boulevard and Industrial Way shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 17 after witnesses reported an unauthorized man in the railyard allegedly carrying a firearm.
Police said the suspect was seen acting suspiciously and attempting to gain access to buildings, vehicles and trains in the area.
When officers arrived, the suspect allegedly attempted to flee in a vehicle. RCMP said officers used manoeuvres to stop the vehicle, and during the confrontation, a police officer discharged their service pistol at the suspect.
