City rejects suggestion that venue change was political
PRINCE GEORGE – OneBC Leader Dallas Brodie planned to visit Prince George for an open community conversation as part of a provincial tour. However, city officials told her that the venue booked for Wednesday, June 10, was unavailable due to a staff shortage.
This cancellation forced Brodie to post on social media their disappointment with the move by the city of Prince George and the Community Arts Council of Prince George & District, which operates the Play House.
Her tweet stated, “ We suspect this is merely an excuse to cancel a Dallas Brodie’s town hall meeting in Prince George.”
The City of Prince George responded with a statement, “ The City and the Community Arts Council reject any suggestion that the booking issue was politically motivated. The circumstances were operational in nature and related solely to staffing availability. “
