DP Todd student missing and presumed drowned

PRINCE GEORGE — Students and staff at DP Todd Secondary are in mourning today (June 8).

In a letter to parents, the Prince George School District says that one of its students is currently missing and is presumed to have drowned.

RCMP say the 17-year-old boy died after the boat he was operating capsized Saturday evening. The tragedy occurred on Stony Lake, located between Quesnel and Prince George. Three others who were on board the boat survived.

“Our efforts to locate the boy are ongoing with our Underwater Recover Team anticipated to arrive tomorrow,” said Staff Sergeant Kris Clark of the BC RCMP. “Our thoughts are with the family, friends and loved ones as they cope with this tragic loss.”
