DP Todd student missing and presumed drowned

PRINCE GEORGE — Students and staff at DP Todd Secondary are in mourning today (June 8).

In a letter to parents, the Prince George School District says that one of its students is currently missing and is presumed to have drowned.

RCMP say a 17-year-old boy died after the boat he was on capsized. The tragedy occurred on Stony Lake, located between Quesnel and Prince George over the weekend. Three others on board the boat survived. No other details have been released.

School District 57 says its Critical Event Response Team are on site to provide emotional support to students.
