E-Scooter rider injured in collision with semi-trailer in Prince George
Prince George, B.C. — An e-scooter rider was injured following a collision with a semi-trailer truck Wednesday evening in Prince George, prompting a temporary closure of a busy intersection and an ongoing police investigation.
Prince George RCMP say frontline officers were notified of the incident shortly after it occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on June 17. The collision took place on Highway 97 south at Fifteenth Avenue, an area that typically sees a high volume of both commercial and commuter traffic.
Emergency responders, including multiple police officers and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to assist the injured e-scooter driver. The individual was assessed at the scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment. Authorities have not released details on the extent of the rider’s injuries.
The driver of the semi-trailer truck remained at the scene following the incident and is reported to have been fully cooperative with investigators. Police have indicated that, at this point, there is no evidence to suggest criminality played a role in the collision.
