Crépeau, Laryea named to MLS all-star roster following Canada’s FIFA World Cup run
Two players from Canada’s FIFA World Cup team have been named to the roster for this month’s Major League Soccer All-Star Game.
Goalkeeper Maxime Crépreau and Richie Laryea were on the 29-man squad unveiled by the league on Wednesday.
Crépreau, who plays for Orlando City, was one of 13 players picked by head coach Dean Smith of host club Charlotte FC.
The 32-year-old keeper was named Canada’s starter for the World Cup in early June. He played every minute of the nation’s five games before Les Rouges were eliminated from the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Morocco in the round of 16 on Saturday.
