“Prince George is my home. It’s where I was raised, where my wife Raylene and I have built our lives, and where my heart is,” Janjua said in a statement announcing his campaign. “I’m running for City Council to bring a practical, homegrown voice to City Hall, one that respects the taxpayer, protects our economic engine, and takes care of our people.”

Janjua’s campaign is built around four key priorities. They include improving transparency and accountability in municipal spending through procurement audits and performance benchmarks, reducing development delays by streamlining permitting processes, prioritizing investments in essential infrastructure such as roads and snow clearing, and enhancing community safety through stronger bylaw enforcement and neighbourhood cleanup initiatives.

He is also advocating for measures aimed at helping residential and commercial projects move forward more quickly, including the use of pre-approved housing designs and stricter review timelines.

Throughout the campaign, Janjua says he plans to meet with residents, business owners, and community organizations across Prince George to gather feedback and discuss his vision for the city’s future.

Municipal voters will head to the polls on October 17.
