United Way BC reaching out for Wildfire Recovery donations

PRINCE GEORGE — The United Way BC is seeking donations to help those who have been displaced by wildfires raging across the southern part of the province.
This comes as the raging Bald Range wildfire forced over 20,000 people to flee their homes across the Okanagan.
The fire, which sparked Friday (August 7), quickly exploded to an estimated 10,340.7 hectares (about 103 square kilometres), triggering the provincial government to declare a state of emergency in B.C.
United Way BC is doing their part to help evacuees by collecting donations through its Wildfire Recovery Fund, which is said will be used to support community partners, evacuees and recovery efforts.
