Zukowski calls for Council to refocus on residents in second bid for City Hall
PRINCE GEORGE —Prince George businessman John Zukowski is outlining a key theme of his municipal election campaign as he launches his second bid for a seat on city council.
Zukowski, a downtown business owner, says Prince George City Council needs to return to what he calls its “fundamental responsibilities” by putting residents ahead of administration and bureaucracy.
Speaking Monday, Zukowski unveiled the slogan “People Before Places, Places Before Things,” arguing that council’s primary responsibility should be serving citizens, followed by protecting and improving the community, and then managing city assets.
“We need to get back to a simple, non-negotiable hierarchy,” Zukowski said. “City Council was elected to serve the residents first, preserve our community second, and manage physical assets third.”
