Legion Branch 43 donates $55,000 to four local causes
PRINCE GEORGE – For a long time, veterans in Prince George who needed heart care had to travel far to the south. Now, a local donation hopes to bring that care closer to home.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 is donating $55,000 from its Poppy and Wreath Fund to four local organizations. This money will help support health care, end-of-life care, and social programs for veterans, their families, and the community.
The largest donation, $30,000, is going to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation for its Cardiac Care Campaign. This adds to the $30,000 the branch gave last October for the new cardiac tower.
