CentreBC Leader Mike Bernier kicks off province-wide tour as party seeks political middle ground
PRINCE GEORGE — CentreBC leader Mike Bernier has launched a province-wide listening tour from Prince George, hoping to build momentum for the fledgling political party as it attempts to carve out space between British Columbia’s governing NDP and Official Opposition Conservatives.
The former Peace River South MLA says the tour is focused on hearing directly from British Columbians about the issues affecting their communities, including health care, public safety, addictions, homelessness and affordability.
“One of the big things we’re trying to do, obviously in CentreBC, is get out and listen to the concerns that people have around the province,” Bernier said. “These are all huge issues that we’re seeing around the province.”
