Terry Fox run nears

PRINCE GEORGE – The Terry Fox Run is just a month away, and organizers are getting ready for the 46th event in Prince George.

This year’s run will take place on Sunday, September 20 at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. All funds raised will support cancer research across Canada through the Terry Fox Foundation.

Prince George is a special part of Terry Fox’s journey. In 1979, he ran the Prince George to Boston Marathon, a 17-mile race that helped him prepare for his Marathon of Hope the next spring. This year, part of the route will follow the same path Fox ran back then.

Organizers have noticed a big increase in support for the run over the past few years. Since 2023, the number of participants and donations has tripled, showing how much the community values cancer research and Terry Fox’s legacy.
