Alpay said he is grateful for the support the team has received and credited the community for making the campaign a success.

“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has walked, donated, volunteered and cheered us on,” he said in the release.

Money raised through the Parkinson SuperWalk helps fund research, information programs, and services for people living with Parkinson’s throughout B.C.

The announcement also introduced a new fundraising project in partnership with Tourism Prince George.

The Parkinson Prince George Sock, which features the city’s well-known Mr. P.G., is being sold to raise money and awareness for the local support group. These limited-edition socks are available at Tourism Prince George and Canadian Tire.

Scott McWalter, CEO of Tourism Prince George, said the organization is happy to support this local cause.

“We are proud to partner with Parkinson Prince George in a fun and meaningful way to raise awareness and support for people living with Parkinson’s,” McWalter said.

Organizers say the sock campaign will give the local Parkinson community another way to raise funds and increase awareness about the disease.

The next Parkinson SuperWalk will take place on September 12, 2026, at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.
