Michael Hall, music director of the PGSO, said that working with Russell and her team has become one of the best parts of the orchestra’s season.

Auditions start on September 5, with more chances to try out on September 12 and callbacks on September 19. Organizers want a diverse cast of about 30 actors and welcome anyone aged eight and up to audition, regardless of gender or background.

Anyone auditioning should be ready to sing a show tune, join in movement exercises, and read from the provided script. A pianist will be there, or you can bring your own backing track. If you have tap dancing experience, bring your tap shoes.

Rehearsals will start in the last week of September.

Elf: The Musical will have five shows over three days, starting December 18 at Vanier Hall. Tickets will be available starting October 1 at the Prince George Symphony Orchestra box office and online.

The production is being presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
