Wilson is now the eighth MLA to leave the B.C. Conservative caucus in less than a month, highlighting a growing crisis for the party. Since the 2024 provincial election, 15 MLAs elected under the Conservative banner have either resigned, been removed, or left caucus, reducing the party’s numbers from 44 elected members to just 29 sitting in the Conservative caucus today.

The latest departure comes amid ongoing questions about the party’s leadership and staffing decisions. In her resignation statement, Wilson pointed to what she described as a mass exodus of experienced staff members from the leader’s office.

She also criticized Findlay’s decision to replace departing staff with individuals whose backgrounds she questioned.

Wilson specifically raised concerns about the appointment of people who have expressed sympathy for Alberta separatist movements, suggesting those hires do not reflect the values many British Columbians expect from a mainstream provincial political party.

Wilson’s departure further weakens the Conservatives’ presence in the legislature and adds to the mounting pressure on Findlay as she attempts to hold the party together following a string of high-profile caucus exits.
