WHL fans in Quesnel treated to tight contest
QUESNEL — The West Fraser Centre in Quesnel again played host to WHL preseason action between Kamloops and Prince George on Saturday evening. The location between the two foes has become a regular stop as both squads gear up for the regular season.
It was the Blazers finding the back if the net first, just before the half-way point of the first, as Logan Lanti scored unassisted. The Kamloops side would double their lead in the middle stanza thanks to Owen Cooper.
The Cougars would get one back late in the second from Tre Peck on the powerplay to cut the lead to 2-1, but that is as close as they would get. Kamloops outshooting PG 41-22 in the win.
Kaeden Tate earned the victory for Kamloops. Alexander Levshyn and Kole Anderosov split the net for Prince George.
