School Board candidate pledges focus on safety and collaboration
PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George resident Barb McNab says student and teacher safety will be her top priority as she seeks a seat on School District 57’s Board of Education.
McNab, who has lived in Prince George for 33 years, grew up on a family farm in northeastern Saskatchewan. She describes her upbringing as one rooted in strong family and Christian values. Although she once hoped to pursue a career in business or government, she says her motivation has always been to make a difference in the community.
Today, McNab serves as director of the Prince George House of Prayer, a ministry organization that regularly prays for local leaders, including city council, the mayor and school trustees.
McNab said her interest in education issues dates back to the time her son attended Montessori school in Prince George. She recalls concerns about classroom disruptions and believes those challenges have grown over the years.
