T-Wolves men’s soccer team draws with Thunderbirds 3-3, women shut out 5-0

PRINCE GEORGE — The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) Timberwolves men’s soccer team earned their third straight draw Sunday (Sept. 13). 

The T-Wolves drew the first-place University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds 3-3 from Masich Place. UNBC got out to a 2-0 lead within the first 30 minutes thanks to goals four minutes apart by midfielders Simon Odenthal and Kaiden Young. 

However, the T-Wolves surrendered three consecutive goals, including two before halftime, to trail UBC 3-2. Defender Hagon Kim evened things up for the T-Wolves in the 67th minute. UNBC goalkeeper Owen Shum made seven saves. 

On the women’s side, the T-Wolves were shut out by the first-place Thunderbirds 5-0 at Masich Place Sunday for their fourth loss in a row to start the season. Second-year goalkeeper Johanna Rathke made 15 saves for the T-Wolves.
