Spruce Kings take 4-2 win to complete home opener sweep

PRINCE GEORGE — A 4-2 win over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Saturday night (Sept. 26) earned the Prince George Spruce Kings a home opening weekend sweep at Kopar Memorial Arena.

The Silverbacks opened up the scoreboard at the 2:22 mark of the first period with a power play goal from Jack Toogood and assists from Quinn Kipfer and Vital Dinis.

Just over 10 minutes later, Rhett Tubello got the Spruce Kings on the board with a rebound goal at the 12:43 mark.

Right winger Michael Denney scored the lone goal in the second period with an assist from Cristian Achim to get the Spruce Kings back in the lead with 2-1 score to finish out the frame.
