Trustee pay, SOGI among key issues at SD57 All-Candidates Forum
PRINCE GEORGE — School trustee remuneration and support for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) resources emerged as two of the most-discussed topics during a School District 57 all-candidates forum hosted by the North Central Labour Council at Vanier Hall on Sunday, September 27.
Candidates seeking one of five trustee positions in the October 17 election answered questions from the audience on a range of issues, including board governance, student safety, curriculum, and recent district decisions.
When candidates were asked what past board decision they would revisit or change, many focused on the controversial 28 per cent trustee remuneration increase approved by the current board.
