Quesnel RCMP seize two loaded handguns in separate incidents

QUESNEL — Quesnel RCMP seized two loaded handguns and a quantity of drugs in two separate incidents over a three-day period, resulting in multiple arrests and firearm-related charges.
The first incident occurred on Saturday, Sept. 26, at approximately 8:15 p.m. During a proactive patrol near the Anderson Drive soccer fields, a Quesnel RCMP officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 21-year-old Quesnel woman for impaired operation and drug possession.
Police say officers seized a small quantity of various drugs, cash and a loaded pistol from the vehicle. The woman has since been released pending further investigation. RCMP say the findings will be forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service for assessment of potential charges.
A second incident took place on Monday, Sept. 28, at approximately 10:07 a.m. after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle.
