Spruce Kings win fourth straight, defeat Capitals 6-4
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings completed a sweep of their two-game home series against the Cowichan Valley Capitals over the weekend.
After defeating the Capitals 7-4 on Saturday (Oct. 3), the Spruce Kings followed up with a 6-4 win on Sunday (Oct. 4) from Kopar Memorial Arena.
Ryan Wachtel and Cooper Faughnan scored in the first half of the first period to give Prince George a 2-0 lead early, but the Capitals would storm back with two goals of their own to tie the game 2-2 after the opening frame.
Dominic Szczygiel scored on the power play early in the second to give the Spruce Kings the lead once more. However, the Capitals scored two unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead.
